Wadsworth Woodlands, Inc is located in beautiful Hiram, Maine. It is a multi-generational, family owned business that has been in operation for over 22 years. The company was founded by John ‘Jack’ Wadsworth who has over 44 years of forestry experience and his wife Elizabeth 'Beth'. Our foremost objective is to help you, the landowner achieve your goals of natural resource management through land management plans, and responsible harvests of your wood products; ensuring the greatest return on your forestland investment, forest health, and creating wildlife habitats. A well-managed, sustainable wood lot is good for you and even better for our forests! A little bit of History The Wadsworth family has been a part of the Hiram community since 1790. General Peleg Wadsworth purchased the land for 12.5 cents an acre and 22 acres of this original parcel of land is currently owned by Jack Wadsworth. Peleg Wadsworth was the grandfather of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Jack Wadsworth is a direct descendant of these legendary figures.
